Corporate Lawyer / In-House Lawyer
LOCATION: Kyiv, Ukraine
THE ROLE
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a talented and ambitious Corporate Lawyer to join our team in Kyiv. This role is ideal for a junior to mid-level lawyer seeking to enhance their legal expertise in an internationally oriented law firm.
As a Corporate Lawyer, you will support the team in a broad range of matters, including:
- Contract law (drafting, review, negotiation)
- Business launch, company formation and structuring
- Corporate changes (M&A, reorganisations, shareholder agreements, capital changes)
- Migration and tax issues (corporate tax, VAT, residency permits, compliance)
- Employment law (labour contracts, dismissals, compliance with Ukrainian labour legislation)
- Financial and regulatory law (transactions, compliance, banking and finance)
- This position offers significant responsibility, client exposure, and the opportunity to further develop legal skills under the guidance of senior colleagues.
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications and attributes:
- Higher legal education: Master’s degree in Law from an accredited Ukrainian or recognised foreign university
- At least 2 years' post-qualification experience in corporate law, gained in a law firm or consulting practice
- Proficiency in English and Polish (written and spoken) is essential; Ukrainian language fluency required for interaction with authorities and drafting legal documents
- Strong academic background and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with confidence in client interaction
Preferred / Advantageous:
- Advocate status (certificate of the right to practice law in Ukraine) or eligibility to obtain it
- Experience with cross-border corporate matters, international clients, and compliance issues
- Understanding of corporate governance and risk management practices
