Work Modes: Remote (Europe?friendly time zones) or On?site with assisted relocation to Ia?i, Romania or Riga, Latvia
Company: Veido (veido.com)
Employment: Full?time
Relocation (on?site track): Full package from Ukraine → EU (legal & residence in ~1−2 weeks, 2−3 months free housing, deposit help, transport, equipment)
Why Veido
At Veido, we’re more than a technology firm — we’re pioneers in mobility, building platforms that power paratransit operators and rideshare services in the U.S., moving millions monthly. We also deliver complex, high?impact products across healthcare, marketing, and more. You’ll join a pragmatic, fast?moving engineering culture in world?class offices with teammates (including many from Ukraine) already on site.
The role
We’re hiring a QA Engineer who can own manual testing (knowing automated is great). You will design test strategy and checklists, convert critical paths into automated suites, and lead platform stability through monitoring, observability, and tight collaboration with Engineering and Product.
What you’ll do
Test strategy & planning
- Translate requirements into test plans, checklists, and traceable test cases (e.g., TestRail) mapped to acceptance criteria and risks.
- Define risk?based smoke/sanity, regression, and release checklists per product area (web & mobile).
- Own test data management and environment readiness; establish entry/exit criteria and quality gates.
Manual + automated testing
- Execute end?to?end, functional, usability, and security?adjacent checks; maintain living regression suites.
- Build and maintain UI/API automated tests (e.g., Playwright/Cypress/WebdriverIO for web; Appium/Detox for mobile; Postman/Newman or REST/gRPC clients for API).
- Integrate automated suites into CI/CD (GitHub Actions/GitLab/Argo) with tags for smoke/regression and reporting.
Mobile app quality
- Test iOS/Android apps on physical devices and emulators; manage device matrix, OS coverage, and release checklists (TestFlight/Play Console).
- Validate push notifications, background states, permissions, offline flows, and deep links.
Ticketing & collaboration
- Use Linear (or Jira) to triage, reproduce, and track defects with clear steps, logs, and video.
- Act as a liaison between customers/support and developers to unblock issues quickly and communicate status.
- Partner with Engineers/PM/Design to scope acceptance tests, align on severity/priority, and drive fast resolution.
Platform stability, analysis & monitoring
- Define and track SLIs/SLOs (availability, latency, error rates) with dashboards (Grafana, Cloud Monitoring).
- Set up synthetic checks and real?user signals (e.g., Sentry/Crashlytics) for proactive detection.
- Participate in incident reviews, contribute to RCAs and preventative actions; maintain runbooks and quality metrics.
Performance & compatibility
- Run targeted perf tests (k6/JMeter) and cross?browser/device compatibility (desktop/mobile) with stable baselines.
- Validate accessibility basics (a11y), localization, and time zone/region scenarios.
What you’ll bring
- 1−3+ years in software QA (web and/or mobile), with proven test documentation and execution.
- Hands?on with TestRail (or similar), Linear/Jira, and at least one automation framework (Playwright/Cypress/WebdriverIO/Appium).
- Experience integrating tests into CI/CD and analyzing results to unblock releases.
- Solid API testing (Postman/Newman; gRPC familiarity a plus).
- Strong analytical skills, clear communication, and a collaborative mindset.
- Nice to have: basic SQL, Git, feature flags, Crashlytics/Sentry, performance testing, or logistics/mobility domain exposure.
Work modes
Remote (Europe?friendly):
- Work from anywhere with 4+ hours overlap with EET/EEST.
