Responsibilities of a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a Landscaping Company:
Financial Planning & Budgeting:
- Develop the company’s annual budget.
- Monitor budget execution across projects and operations.
- Forecast income, expenses, and cash flow.
Accounting Oversight:
- Organize and supervise all accounting processes within QuickBooks.
- Ensure accurate categorization of transactions, invoicing, and financial reporting through the system.
- Guarantee timely submission of tax and financial reports.
- Oversee the accuracy of documentation and internal controls.
Financial Analysis:
- Evaluate the profitability of landscaping and installation projects.
- Analyze financial performance indicators.
- Identify financial risks and growth opportunities.
Cost Control & Efficiency:
- Optimize costs related to materials, logistics, and subcontractors.
- Implement systems to monitor project costs and margins.
- Credit & Receivables Management:
- Manage client and supplier payments.
- Oversee accounts receivable and payable via QuickBooks tracking.
Banking & External Reporting:
- Prepare reports for banks and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory authorities.
Strategic Involvement:
- Provide financial justification for new projects and investments.
- Support pricing strategies and commercial proposals.
- Assist in long-term financial planning to support company growth.
Automation & Digitalization:
- Maintain and improve financial workflows through QuickBooks and connected platforms.
- Ensure all operational and financial processes are tracked, automated, and reportable through the system.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration. Professional certifications. Work Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar senior finance role, preferably within the construction, landscaping, real estate, or service sectors. Proven experience managing financial flows for project-based operations. Skills and Knowledge: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks (mandatory), including bookkeeping, payment processing, invoicing, and financial reporting. Strong command of Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus. Sound understanding of UAE tax, accounting, and financial regulations. Experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and cost control for multi-phase or landscape-related projects. Ability to build and structure a finance department from the ground up. Experience working with banks, auditors, government authorities, and external consultants. Strategic mindset with the ability to multitask and deliver under tight deadlines.
Languages: Fluency in English (required). Knowledge of Ukrainian/ Russian or Arabic is a plus.
