Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) is announcing an open vacancy for the position of HSE Engineer, responsible for implementing and monitoring occupational health and safety (OHS) and fire safety standards in accordance with Ukrainian legislation and NPA’s internal policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure full compliance with Ukrainian labor safety and fire protection laws, including regular updates in accordance with national changes.
- Conduct and document mandatory OHS instructions (introductory, primary, repeated, unscheduled) for staff.
- Maintain all legally required registers and documentation on OHS and fire safety.
- Carry out internal audits, risk assessments, and regular workplace inspections.
- Investigate incidents and develop corrective and preventive actions.
- Cooperate with authorized state institutions and pass inspections.
- Train and support staff on safety rules and fire protection regulations.
- Prepare and submit reports to management and regulatory bodies as required.

Required Qualifications:
- University degree in Occupational Safety, Fire Safety, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Solid knowledge of current Ukrainian legislation on labor protection and fire safety (Law of Ukraine «On Labor Protection», Labor Code, Fire Safety Rules in Ukraine).
- Experience in preparing and maintaining OHS/fire safety documentation.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to deliver safety instructions clearly.
- Proficiency in Ukrainian (mandatory), English is an big advantage.
