Role Summary
We are seeking a Ukraine-based Commercialization Manager to spearhead contract manufacturing for our premium high-protein cookies and upcoming protein bar product lines. In this pivotal role, you will identify, assess, and manage Ukrainian manufacturing partners capable of delivering world-class CPG products at scale—while upholding Methodology’s uncompromising standards for quality, ingredients, and compliance.
You will act as the key liaison between our U.S. headquarters and local production partners, leading factory onboarding, process development, vendor management, cost modeling, and all logistics coordination. The ideal candidate brings proven experience in launching international CPG products, deep expertise in snack food manufacturing, and a collaborative approach to cross-functional team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manufacturing Setup & Vendor Management
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend Ukrainian contract manufacturers specializing in cookies and protein bars.
- Lead onboarding, sampling, QA validation, and pre-production assessments to ensure readiness.
- Oversee all technical and operational integration with culinary and packaging teams.
- Develop, document, and enforce SOPs for consistent, high-quality production.

2. Commercialization Execution
- Translate brand vision and product specifications into robust, scalable manufacturing processes.
- Supervise launch batches, troubleshoot issues, and ensure products meet spec.
- Collaborate on packaging design and source locally to optimize cost, quality, and speed.
- Track changes to ingredient specs, vendor lead times, and COGs, proactively addressing cost and margin impacts.

3. Regulatory, Logistics & Cross-Border Compliance
- Ensure product and facility compliance with EU/U.S. export, food safety, and labeling standards.
- Drive certification, documentation, and customs readiness for both immediate and long-term shipments.
- Coordinate closely with U.S. logistics and 3PLs on delivery planning, contingencies, and customs risk mitigation.
- Maintain airtight compliance records, resolve delays, and uphold cold chain and packaging integrity as required.

4. Cost Modeling & Margin Ownership
- Build comprehensive per-unit and batch cost models across all SKUs, closely managing COGs and profitability.
- Monitor margin performance monthly, drive cost optimizations, and surface savings opportunities.
- Partner with leadership to forecast volumes and plan scalable capacity investments.

5. Reporting & Stakeholder Coordination
- Deliver concise, actionable weekly project updates and live risk dashboards to U.S. leadership.
- Orchestrate across Ukrainian vendors, international freight, and U.S. fulfillment; ensure all parties are aligned.
- Lead or co-host weekly operational calls with the COO and core project team.

Required Experience
- 5+ years in food manufacturing, contract production, or product commercialization (snack foods, cookies, or protein bars highly preferred).
- Demonstrated experience setting up or managing third-party (contract) manufacturers, ideally in Ukraine or Eastern Europe.
- Deep knowledge of international production and food compliance standards (U.S./EU).
- Proficiency in ingredient validation, shelf life/packaging testing, and process optimization.

Who Thrives in This Role
- Entrepreneurial and resourceful: excels in building systems from scratch, thrives on ownership, urgency, and structured execution—even with limited resources.
- Detail-oriented and obsessed with margin and repeatability: builds for scale and efficiency.
- Strong communicator: Fluent in English and Ukrainian. Clear, persuasive in both written and verbal updates.
- Passionate about health, food innovation, and making a positive impact.

Contract Scope
- This is a contract role with immediate start. Compensation will be competitive and based on experience.
- Duration: Initial 3−6 months with option to extend or convert to permanent.
- Travel: This role is based in Ukraine and requires in-person engagement with local manufacturing partners. Occasional international travel (e.g., to the U.S. or EU) may be requested depending on project needs.
