Your responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Lead frontend and backend engineers, setting clear technical direction and maintaining high engineering standards.
- Define high-level architecture and ensure product initiatives are well-scoped, including delivery and roll-out plans.
- Own the backend system architecture with a focus on scalability, high-load optimization, API design, and data processing.
- Ensure system security, compliance (GDPR/HIPAA), and performance testing are embedded into development practices.
- Collaborate with the AI team to integrate machine learning solutions into the product.

People & Process
- Mentor frontend, backend, and QA engineers, helping them grow in skills and autonomy.
- Facilitate Scrum rituals: daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Partner with the Product Manager to define objectives, roadmap, and priorities for the team.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and cohesive teamwork across disciplines.

Your qualifications
Must-Have
- 6+ years of backend engineering experience with deep knowledge of NestJS + Fastify, TypeORM / Mikro-ORM, PostgreSQL, AWS Fargate, and S3.
- Strong background in scalable backend architectures, microservices, and high-load system optimization.
- Experience with real-time data processing, API development, and database optimization (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).
- Solid understanding of cloud security, IAM policies, authentication, and compliance frameworks (GDPR/HIPAA).
- Hands-on experience with frontend frameworks (Vue.js or similar).
- Proven ability to mentor engineers and lead cross-functional product teams.

Nice-to-Have
- Experience designing and developing GIS architecture for large-scale geospatial data processing.
- Knowledge of integrating neural networks into production systems.
- Strong background in system performance testing, penetration testing, and backend security hardening.
- Prior experience collaborating with data science or AI/ML teams.
