Smarter is a management company responsible for defining the overall strategy of investment activities and ensuring optimal management and development strategies for each business unit within the group. The main areas of activity and focus of our company include the international fintech community SFORS (https://sfors.com), the brokerage company Statok (https://statok.global), and the product company Pine Software (https://pinesoftware.com.cy).
We are looking for an experienced Business Central Developer with deep expertise in ERP architecture, AL development, integrations, and CI/CD to design and optimize solutions based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central in an international environment.
Responsibilities:
- Defining the technical architecture and strategic approach for developing solutions based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Developing complex functional modules and integrations using AL language, including Events & Subscribers, APIs, and data exchange services.
- Code review, mentoring junior developers, implementing programming standards and CI/CD tools.
- Assessing technical risks and developing solutions to improve system performance, stability, and security.
- Designing and implementing extensions for a multinational environment (multiple currencies, jurisdictions, localizations).
- Creating a technical backlog, developing proof-of-concept for new initiatives and solutions.
- Ensuring high-quality development, maintaining technical documentation, and describing architectural decisions.
- Coordinating with analytics, infrastructure, security, and DevOps teams for full-cycle implementation of ERP changes.
- Analyzing and optimizing Azure resources, monitoring performance, participating in solution scaling.
- Technical involvement in digital transformation projects: automation of reporting, integration with Power BI, Payroll, MSW, etc.
Job requirements:
Advanced experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central / NAV development
- 4+ years of experience with AL language, creating extensions, customizations, complex logic using Events & Subscribers, upgrading old modules.
- Confident understanding of the BC development lifecycle: deployment, CI/CD, version control.
ERP architecture and complex business processes
- Experience in designing new modules and optimizing existing architecture considering multi-company, multi-currency, and local requirements.
- Knowledge of key ERP modules: Finance, Inventory Management, Manufacturing, Budgeting, integration with Payroll and Reporting.
Deep understanding of integrations and APIs
- Hands-on experience with complex integrations via REST API, OData, file-based connections, web services, and more.
- Participation in building middleware solutions or microservices for data exchange.
AL language, DevOps, and codebase management
- Confident use of Visual Studio Code, Source Control (GIT), Azure DevOps Pipelines.
- Development of code templates, reusable libraries, code review, process automation.
SQL, performance, and optimization
- Knowledge of SQL Server structure, query optimization, diagnosing BC performance issues.
- Implementation of monitoring, indexing, and transaction control.
Testing, CI/CD, and solution support
- Experience in automated testing (Test Codeunits), setting up test environments, participating in release cycles.
- Documenting architecture decisions, supporting multi-user development environments.
- Ukrainian (fluent) and English (Upper-Intermediate or higher).
Would be a plus:
- Scalability and multi-company environment — Experience working with multiple companies, currencies, and localizations.
- Code refactoring and optimization — Experience in modernizing outdated solutions and managing technical debt.
- Testing in Business Central (Test Codeunits) — Knowledge of automated testing approaches in BC.
- Understanding of SQL/BC performance — Query and index optimization, lock diagnostics — as an additional advantage.
- Technical documentation / technical wiki preparation — Ability to describe architecture, solutions, and approaches in a structured way.
- Experience with middleware, queues, message exchange — Will be a plus for complex integration scenarios.
