Job Title: Manual QA Engineer — Financial Web Application
Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Manual QA Engineer to join our team in testing our financial web application. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and executing comprehensive test plans, identifying and reporting bugs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality of our application.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for the financial web application
2. Execute manual testing across various browsers, devices, and operating systems
3. Identify, document, and report bugs, issues, and defects using a bug tracking system
4. Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, discuss issues, and provide feedback
5. Verify bug fixes and retest resolved issues to ensure proper implementation
6. Conduct exploratory testing to uncover potential issues and edge cases
7. Participate in regular testing activities, such as regression testing, smoke testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
8. Contribute to the development and maintenance of testing documentation, including test strategies, test matrices, and test reports
9. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and new testing tools and methodologies
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
2. 2+ years of experience in manual testing of web applications, preferably in the financial domain
3. Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies
4. Experience with creating and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts
5. Proficiency in identifying, documenting, and reporting bugs using bug tracking systems like JIRA or Bugzilla
6. Knowledge of web technologies, such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
7. Familiarity with testing tools, such as browser developer tools, Postman, and Selenium
8. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
9. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment
10. Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality software
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks, such as Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, or Playwright
2. Knowledge of financial concepts, such as banking, trading, and financial instruments
3. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban
4. ISTQB or similar software testing certification
